50 Ford Truck - Control Arm

When we build a Street Rod that requires a custom IFS suspension mod or complete chassis build we always have to change and or modify the inner fender aprons to accommodate the different upper control arm swing clearances and or placement. As seen we are mocking up in paper board beforehand to be sure we are satisfied with the changes.

Once we have installed our mock ups and like what we see by checking that the suspension travel clearances are good, we cut out the steel and ran a bead roller on the outer edge to make room for a rubber dust shield retainer that will be built out of stainless.

We installed and welded the apron in place and repeated the same mock up scenario on the other side. Usually the left and right aprons are not the same side to side in different projects as they need to clear different components and accept installation of other components on to them.
