1972 Firebird - Start Project

The customer brought us his original dream car, a 1972 Pontiac Firebird but she is way too far gone. A complete re-body would need to be done so purchasing a better body is the way to go.

Patch panels galore.

The roof was gone. The entire body had deep surface rust from sitting out so many years.

She is waiting for the junk yard cause she's to far gone. The Glass hood is full of holes and cracks but we will use a section of the air louvers to replace a section on the better fiberglass hood that came with the new body we found.

The new body is way better but still some what rough. 30 plus years old will take its toll on any car.

The old Bird is complete but in need of much work.

The spoiler gaps are way off and will need realigned.

The spoilers do not line up and had screws holding them on!

Rust out under the windshield will more then likely be thin once blasted.

Coming apart she is showing signs of wear.

As with most projects we build they start out rough. This Pontiac is much better then the rusty Bird the customer first brought us but as seen will require extensive work.

The hood shows previous attempts to restore with colors galore primer, gel coat etc.

Same for the body, rough and ready, but our talented crew will resurrect the wings of this mighty Bird

The scoops were cracked and chipped on all the edges. This Muscle car restoration is off to a great start!
