1972 Firebird - Hood Screens
The original hood screens were pretty much production cut and installed. Rough to say the least.
Once removed and inspected they had some cracks in them and the holes are a little large to trap insects and keep them off the motor. So we are going to fabricate it with a smaller hole size to catch all contaminants.
After repairs to the hood and primer blocking it is time to fab new screens in the scoops to keep out bugs and debris from the engine bay.
We chose some stainless wire mesh that is heavier gauge then the flimsy stuff Pontiac used. Mocked up on paper board then cut out on the mesh we are ready for fit.
Honey Comb OH wont you be my baby, yea honey comb be my girl. Hey I grew up in the 60s and 70s and that cereal commercial comes to mind when I think of Pontiac Honey comb wheels and screening.
