71 Mustang - Roof Support

The fastback roof is a weak unit from Ford. We only had to push one finger down to pop it in. A reinforcement is needed to eliminate problems down the road.

Custom braces were built to support the roof. We installed our first one as a mock up and we like the results. We used foam layered between the roof and the brace and it is fully adjustable. It does the job and still clears the head liner.

Dyna-Mat sound deadener was installed before our new bracing gets fabbed.

Bob fabricated angled brace ends that are adjustable.

Custom bent to match the tops shape.

The original brace Ford installed needed removal and re-positioning also.

Special " dura foam " was used to support yet give just a bit.

X Bracing to give adequate support was installed.

Time to weld it all in place.

As seen many braces. It will be sight unseen once the headliner is installed.
