1971 Chevelle Wagon - Sand, Paint & Polish
Any obvious dents or imperfections are straightened then skim coated with filler to perfect for this Wagon Muscle car restoration.
This makes such a difference on the car when painted.
To make a body really straight you have to go through several blocking stages, even the fender wells and fire wall get the treatment of repriming and blocked again.
In the booth getting sealer then paint

Coming along
Mark a few imperfections to refine.
Hood gets the same treatment.
The man himself in action.
Fender edges get cut and polished too.

Finish by hand and voila.
One straight 1971 Wagon ready for assembly, the restoration is coming along.
The roof is very long requiring much color sand and buffing. Nat uses an air buffer because of its light weight compared to an 8lb electric buffer. This eliminates pressure and heat build up which can cause panel warp.
Tail gate finish coming to life.
The SS Chevelle Wagon gets its stripes. As seen Bob sprayed purple base then applied 2 coats of clear for protection. He sanded it with 800 grit then masked the stripes off and is ready to spray the black base.
Same goes for the back panel.
Black based and ready to carefully de-mask and clear the entire hood.
De mask and ready for clear. Once the hood has been clear coated we will color sand then polish to the ultimate finish for our restoration project
