1971 Wagon - Engine Cover

Our engine cover was built during the fabrication phase then body worked and primed. We decided on the breather hole placement then taped and marked it off.

Measure twice cut once.

To rough out the squares he used a ford ham tool with a mini cut off wheel. He then cut about 1/16th away from the line to keep the primer edge from burning.

Once they are cut out you can see where he used a drill bit to round the corners. Each corner was sized accordingly.

Using a dyna-brade mini air file he cut within 1/32 to our line.

Eric then hand filed each one to his marked line and also finish file shaped the rounded corners.

After we paint the cover we will then place stainless mesh on the back side of each cut out.

Looking good.

Setup and ready for paint!

Time for the engine cover to be polished.

Finished cover looks good, what do you think?
