1971 Chevelle Wagon - Rust Repair
Every project we undertake has rust and the Chevelle Wagon was no exception. Coming from New York state you have to figure there will be some. Take a look at a few areas we had to build. The lower fender section on any Chevelle will more then likely be gone as this was a week area because of the bracing having a pocket for dirt and moisture to sit in. You can see some one tried to patch it before using brass and overlapping the panels with the next one.
Same with the other side GONE!
Correctly fitting a patch shaped right and level with the surface like a piece of a puzzle is the only way. Priming the back side including both the bracing and patch is also mandatory.
The lower qter panels were gone also.
Newly fabricated part was installed and welded in. You have to have the craftsman and tools to do this type of repair correctly. Longevity is equality important with any rust repairs.
Wheel well edges gone also.

Rust work completed now drop the body on to its frame.
We often replace many parts to get the best fit but they still require trimming, fitting, slicing and dicing for a razor blade gap.
