69 Cougar - Start Build
The Cat is in the house, all the way from South Florida. The customer Dat Taylor wants is right. Mr. Taylor is the original owner of this 1969 Cougar and although she is an original Eliminator he still wants to upgrade it for his own pleasures.
Many old parts like original 428 engine 4 speed top loader and a host of other original unneeded items.
Radiator sits against the ole 428 waiting to be taken back home.
Bill steam cleans the engine bay and de greases her for her maiden fabrication voyage.
Ready to start the mods.
She will have a 550 hp small block aluminum head with fuel injection system, 5 speed standard and full out G-Force suspension system.
The original 302 Boss motor was pulled in 1970 and this 428 was installed. It had its time to brag and now it is time to pull it and change over to a 500 horse power small block 351W with fuel injection.
Florida has not been good to this 1969 Cougar. Left outdoors and covered the moisture from the ground caused a green house effect and pitted everything.
Most of this suspension will be tossed as we are going to build this Cat with Pro touring suspension mods and many other one off fabricated items.
Sad what the moisture will do over the years, absolutely ruins Muscle Cars.
Wasted but a new narrowed 9 inch will be installed any ways.
Pit city.
Trunk drop off's are thin also on the 1969 Cougar.
Old Ford suspension parts will be removed
Big Cat starts out pretty rough with orig blue interior tattered and torn showing her 40 years of use.
Rear seat is in the best shape being that it was rarely sat in.
Front buckets ready for new foam and seat covers once the springs are beefed up correctly.
The old Cat has some rust in the typical areas like the bottoms of the doors that will need taken care of.
Behind the rear tires she is also thin.
Passenger side is riddled with holes.
Rockers were banged up one time ago!
Eliminator decal badge still standing tall and once again will have life breathed back in this Cougar, another process completed of Muscle Car restoration.
