1966 Mustang - Floor Replace
The " RUST-STANG" shows her colors with the floors also needing replaced.
Someone brazed some used rusty floors in crooked so we have to cut out past the bad repairs and insert new ones correctly.
Nothing but the frame rails were left.
One thing about Mustangs is there is plenty of new metal available, however picking through the bogus parts and choosing acceptable import metal is vital and knowing which brand is stamped right changes everything when making good efficient time is important.
Once we removed the dents we media blasted then applied zinc chromate for life time longevity.
New floor metal is welded in and are ready for grinding to smooth the welds.
Using the weight of the car we adjust the stand for pressure on the frame rail to be sure the floor metal is straight and true.
Being sure to line up all the pieces with no detection of repairs is the key.
Under the seat risers we zinc chromate primed for life time protection against corrosion.
The risers must be mounted a certain height to ensure proper seat placement. These crucial measurements were recorded before we removed the old risers.
Installing the seats to be sure they sit straight in the car and line up to one another is vital.

The bumper reinforcement brackets in the trunk are covering rust that has destroyed much of the flooring.
Once the brackets were removed your can see how holy she is.
Brackets are ready for blasting and priming.
