1966 442 - AC Heat box

Close up of the heater core shows the steel retainer bracket completely exfoliated on this 1966 442. When they leak slowly inside the box this is what takes place. Time for restoration & replacement.

The heater box was quite rough, as seen very rusty with all the seals torn.

First step was to dip the outer box and then blast and prime.

There are no seal kits for this model so we had to fabricate them from our rubber stock collection.

The outer seal was also fabricated. We have many different types of rubbers for making gaskets depending on the space and durometer needed. Durometer means the hardness of rubber!
