1965 Corvair - Rust Repair

The hood was rough with many coats of paint needing to be removed.

Stripped to bare metal we can now remove the dents.

The same goes for the doors there are many dents and dings to remove. As seen we have some pulling studs attached to the door.

After all the dents are removed we blasted the panels white metal clean in our indoor blast shop to get them ready for primer.

Cleaned to the bone and ready for primer you can see the level of cleanliness.

Many panels on the main body were rusted out so we need to perform these repairs now that all is cleaned up.

The inside qters were rusted out and need sections replaced.

As seen many areas were replaced.

The outer qters where the battery was located was also gone.

Installed.

Many floor sections were replaced.

Fully welded in flush for no detection.

Small holes, large holes you name it this car had it. Note the zinc primer on the inside panel before we place the patch on and weld it up.

Body dents were numerous.

Straightened with no detection.

All the new metal once welded and ground smooth is blasted before body work and primer.

Body is looking good and coming around.
