57 Chevy Dissasembly

The old 57 came in rough, missing many parts and in need of a re-body. Why would anyone build a car this rough you might ask? The owner has had this car for over 30 years and dated his wife with this 57 and you just don't sell a car you've had that long Sentimental memories.

Every piece of remaining trim was banged up, missing or rusted.

Nothing fits as the front clip was on and off several times.

Even the speaker deck was rusty.

Radiator support was cut as many people did to clear a V8 radiator.

Black, purple, yellow, blue etc ?? and many other paint jobs were sprayed on through the years.

Waves and ripples are every where making this 57 one of the friendliest cars we have ever seen.

Original fire wall has seen many problems including rerouting of hoses etc.

The current 327 has seen better days but a new 350 fuel injected motor will be her destiny in the future.

Gaps are very big and out of alignment!

Trim was all dented and wasted.

Bottom of the doors are all gone.

Many original parts will not even be used because of a Custom Rod build instead of stock.

Going through all the parts to determined what can be salvaged.

Jack hangs the 57 for a little wheel stand action to clean away the oil and grease before removing the suspension to avoid making a mess of the shop and himself.

Many 57's have had the front end in the air but not this way. Winch power man "not horse power" ! The old Cragars still look good on her

Many parts organized and awaiting final assembly.
