57 Chevy - Transmission

The customer wanted a smooth ride so we went with a 700R4 automatic over drive transmission. Unfortunately all the top transmission suppliers only rinse the cases down and spray them with silver or black paint which can tend to peel right off. We want longevity so we are stripping all the paint from the factory and wire wheeling it down to the bare aluminum.

As Eric strips it down to bare aluminum the bogus silver paint is exposed. Removal is necessary for clean looks and longevity.

Scuff pads, elbow grease and bare clean aluminum is what you get.

Once cleaned and prepped correctly we spray it with zinc chromate to get the adhesion we want which produces longevity.

Zinc chromate is the best.

The new silver was applied and she looks way better.
