57 Chevy - Tranny Linkage

We built a custom Transmission Z bar bracket to allow the correct angle, travel and attaching points for our custom fabricated linkage rods to change gears smoothly while the customer gently pulls the column shift lever.

As seen the installed Z bar pivot with linkage rods and trans brackets are in place and doing their job. A smooth shift mechanism including park, drive and reverse all work with the gear selector showing the proper selection at all times.

Here we have the main rod from the bottom of the column lever to the Z bar tube pivot. All of the linkage rods were built from 400 series stainless steel for strength as well as no rust beauty.

We also fabricated a throttle cable bracket in stainless to hold the cables in place on the fuel injection plenum.

Another look shows the throttle cable brackets in place and securing the cables steady allowing a smooth foot pedal to throttle cable action.
