57 Chevy - Body Gaps

As seen at the hood, fender, door and wiper cowl the gap is rather large and needs tightened up. We fabricated a piece of metal in the same shape to close up the gap. We tweak all the gaps on our projects. Some cars will allow the ultimate 3/16ths while other projects have to be a bit larger because of the hinge systems and or limitations of moldings fitted to the car. The common goal is that they be consistently the same all around the perimeter of each panel.

She fits precise and ready for welding in place.

This brought the gaps to a consistent fit making them all the same. On to the door to cowl area next.
