57 Chevy - Access Covers

When we install stainless gas tanks we often go with fuel pumps mounted internally etc. On this project we will install stainless access covers on the trunk floor to allow removal of the fuel pump and or gas tank sending unit if the need ever arises. Doc is flanging the recessed opening to accept a flush mount cover.

As seen the hinge was cut from a large piano hinge, flat stainless cover and keyed opening are fabricated and ready to assemble.

Installed you can see there is more than enough room to gain access!

On the underside with the tank removed both access covers are in place and ready to do the job.
