1936 Truck - Running Boards
As mentioned in the beginning the running boards take most of the wear and tear on a truck. Finding NOS ones is about near impossible so we have to rebuild them.
The swail or concave shape from one side to another is some what different so we have some old fashioned straitening to do.
A little bit of porta powering to massage them in to shape was needed.
Looking much better.
The mounting brackets were welded on crooked from the factory which hurt the fit so we drilled the spot welds and are repositioning.
Correct and what a difference.
Once we got the edge dead on straight we added a rod to the inside edge to stiffen it up a bit.
Clamped in place she will work out fine. Once we media blast all the rust away we will weld these in place.
Look at the key hole grooves, a rock or something hit them and mangled them over.
Now they will work properly.
Blasted white metal clean and ready for primer.
