1928 International Truck - Seat Rebuild
The seat took a bunch of work as it was basically covered with an Indian blanket when it arrived not to mention the Rats that had been having their way with it. We started by rebuilding the seat base with complete new metal. The old one was all cut up and twisted.
We fit it in and she looks good.
The old vs new shows we also added some bracing to keep it in shape better.
Old springs were wasted so we decided to rebuild an entire new set.
New coils were used to build the seat from scratch.
Foam was added to get the shape correct and fit in the confines perfectly as far as width.
Starting to take shape.
A bit more comfort foam for support gets it looking a bit better and close to cover ready.
Strap materials are like a thick gauze which holds it all together.
Base ball glove leather. Looks and smells right.
Everything pre fit before painting the outer body to avoid scratches during final assembly. It is now time to go on to the inside interior panels.
