1928 International Truck - Floor Board Wood
Not much to say broke, busted and disgusted. In need of our professional expertise and of course the "wood miester".
The floor boards were exfoliated and rotten in many areas. We used them as templates and fabricated new ones from Spanish Red Oak.
In order to stabilize the wood and keep them from warping we fabricated and installed stainless trim around the borders compared to the rusty carbon steel the factory used. We applied a satin finish on the trim for a period look.
Fitting and checking clearances is vital for servicing .These boards need to be removed to service the 6 volt battery located under the driver side.
Looking good and about ready to refinish.
After the "wood meister" was finished the results are evident. Check out the window crank reflection in the floor! When is the last time you saw wood done to this level?
