50 Ford Engine Prep

The factory Ford 302 fuel injected motor was painted by Ford but we still strip it down to bare cast iron because we can not trust an assembly lines quality levels. Mask off and ready to prep Eric is set to go.
Using various wire wheels Eric has the block cleaned up nice with a shiny cast iron finish.
He sprays it down with prepsol, rinsing every last remnant of oil residue away, for cleanliness which leads to adhesion allowing max longevity.
Eric re- masked and sprayed it with zinc chromate which is high heat proof.
All the other parts were prepped much in the same way only they were bead blasted because there is no concern with media entering in to a crevice etc as with the engine.
He then assembled the water pump, oil pan and any other parts that will not hinder the spray gun pattern.
Every bolt gets the treatment on our bolt holders.
Our sterile spray booth is ready for black paint.
All parts are sprayed 2 coats only. This keeps the thickness down which resists adhesion failure from the intense heat that an engine puts out.
Black paint sparkles like the exterior of our finished cars. The engine stand allows easy turning so every nook and cranny gets sprayed evenly.
